Meet Ahn Hee Strain

Founder & Creative

Ahn Hee works and lives in Austin, TX.  Ahn Hee received her BFA in Visual communications at University of Delaware and her MPS in Art Therapy from School of Visual Arts, NY. Her past work with survivors of trauma mixed with her intuitive process and nature, pushed Ahn Hee towards exploring her own experiences through a creative journey dedicated to healing. Now in Austin, Ahn Hee continues to work as an Art Therapist at a children’s hospital and attempts to find her balance in self-discovery and expanding her creative process.

Ahn Hee’s work aims to create visual calmness between organic line, free flowing energy and color play reflective within nature. Each piece is an exploration and an invitation for viewers to embark on their own introspective journey.

Organic lines play a vital role in Ahn Hee’s artistic expression, representing fluidity of life, the inherent interconnected of all things and the ever-evolving rhythms that surround us. These lines guide the eye and draw the viewer into a dynamic composition that can appear simultaneously chaotic and yet seeks to convey harmony. The free-flowing energy that emanates from her work displays a sense of liberation in moving from one side of the canvas to the other letting go of control in attempts to capture moments of raw emotion.

Nature serves as an endless source of inspiration in Ahn Hee’s practice. Within nature, she finds grounding, solace, and an appreciation of the delicate balance we navigate in this constantly changing world. Ahn Hee embraces the intertwined connections in nature and its transformative powers that influence her intangible interpretations onto her canvas.

Feel free to reach out always! Connection is such an important part of the process!

"Someone else's vision will never be as good as your own vision of your self. Live and die with it 'cause in the end it’s all you have. Lose it and you lose yourself and everything else."
